At long last, Chicago is in sight. We started out today’s ride only 26 miles from our final destination.

Once again, Illinois provided fantastic bike paths to guide us to Lake Michigan, then onto Grant Park.

After seven weeks on the road, hard to believe we’re actually this close to completing the ride.

While the scenery was epic, so was the wind. We were full into a fierce north headwind all the way into the city. Still a great day on the bike but I’ll be glad to leave the big, cold winds behind.
