Sant Llorenc de Morunys: A photo gallery

I was really surprised by this little Catalonian town. I hadn't done any research on it and was viewing it mostly as a well situated stopover, but there's a lot to see here in a very small area. It's most important feature is it's distinguished church, a barrel-vaulted Romanesque structure from the eleventh century. It features a glorious baroque altarpiece from the late18th century, dedicated to the Coll Virgin. Partially damaged in the Spanish Civil War, it is regarded as the finest example of the Catalan baroque style.

In addition to the church though, it's a delightful place to wander through, admiring its narrow streets, views of the surrounding mountains, and the occasional well dressed dog.

The small cloister next to the church dates back to the 16th century.

The ancient yew tree in the cloister has three trunks, representing the holy trinity.
