PDX to Berwick-Upon-Tweed

We caught the early MAX to the airport, arriving by 6.  We had no issues or hassles with the flight, arriving in Edinburgh at about 8 Saturday morning.  An easy 10 mile ride to the train station in the central city - purchased tickets for all 4 train journeys for our tour, and then sat waiting 90 minutes for the train to Berwick.  Nearly missed it when we didn't recognize it on the departure board.

Disembarked in Berwick-upon-Tweed in a downpour, my brand new blue Columbia parka remaining on board, London-bound and lost forever.

Cycled a few blocks to our B&B, checked into our room - 2nd floor, eastern view over the garden, train line, and the English Channel.  Napped several hours, and then woke to clearing skies and set off on a circuit of the town.  We skirted the ramparts and golf course to the shore, town to the bridges over the mouth of the Tweed; then back to town for a fish dinner in a pub.

Our lodging in Berwick-upon-Tweed.
