Day 6 - The Wall

I had heard about Playas de Tijuana where the wall meets the ocean and wanted to check it out.  The GPS took me on a convoluted track to avoid the main highways, but after getting lost several times, you know what I ended up doing. There were cyclists going the other way on the highways so I wasn't sure if this was allowed or not, but of course the adrenalin got pumping on one section where there was a parked truck with flashing lights ahead. I stopped well behind of the truck and just surveyed what was going on, ready to turn around if necessary. After walking around for a bit the driver got back in and took off then I surmounted the final hill and breathed a sigh of relief to hit the beach.

Once there it was surreal. There it was, the massive border fence that separates Mexico and the US. The pictures will tell it like it is. The highway risk really paid off because it paralleled the border wall for a good chunk of distance and afforded some amazing views of this structure.
