Harlowton to Checkerboard

Loading up at the Country Inn this morning. I forgot to leave the key.

Great Shoulders

We knew there was construction ahead. They are widening the road and adding more of these good shoulders

Construction! Heather is the boss. We are waiting for the truck to take us across the construction zone

Heather moves the waiting line through once the pace truck gets turned around. The back of his truck is full so we are going to wait for the second truck.

This is the most action we've seen all morning

Baker helps us load the bikes in the back of his truck and drives us the five miles through the construction zone.

The colors inspire me

Our home in Checkerboard. A stove and frig. Bathhouse is a few steps away and there's a pump next to the horseshoe pit for fresh water. $40

Judy cooks us up burgers -local beef - so good.

Rick and Judy run the bar, weekend get away for folks from Round Up and Helena. His grandfather bought the bar in 1945! Used to be a restaurant and dance hall
