We stopped for lunch at The Grill. The bikes got some attention as we ate inside.

The story goes that Blackbeard was in cahoots with the Governor of NC and he would pillage the British and Spanish ships and the two would split the bounty. The British finally got hold of Blackbeard and beheaded him.

We rode around the little town. Apparently, a pastor put a curse on the town that it would never grow. It was once the capitol of NC and it is the oldest town having been founded in 1708!

We were a bit early so we sat in front of our room while the cleaning was finished up.

We are going to stay here a few days. Another storm front is heading this way and we are looking at riding out to Kitty Hawk.
