Lake City to Northfield

Beautiful day today. We started along the Mississippi or (Lake Pepin) up to Red Wing and then headed to the Cannon Valley Trail.

Last look at the Mississippi River. Now we will climb our way up to the Continental Divide!

Today we've been on the road 10 months and we will pass 10,000 miles!

Closer so you can see the chair lift! So funny to be right here where we are riding by!

We stopped in Cannon Falls for second breakfast

This bridge was scarey and cars/trucks were going over it!

Water rushing under that bridge and so high! We made it across but it was touch and go!

Goats! John and Nancy are our warmshowers hosts tonight and they just hired goats to clean up the vegetation.

The goat man says it will take two weeks and there are two dozen goats in there!

Nancy WrightI loved the Cannon Valley Trail! We went through on a Sunday morning. One guy in the group stayed back in town to go to church. By the time he came down the trail a few hours later, he was riding through water on the trail that was 1-2 feet deep from flooding!

Janet Anspach-RickeyTo Nancy WrightWe had to walk over 2 places where the water had left dirt on the trail after that big storm yesterday. Soon after we crossed the area two fellows in a truck with shovels in the back came up the trail to clear off the mess.
