San Roque
We didn't sleep very well last night. Another couple arrived late and sat down to supper around ten thirty. The owner of the hosteria joined them and they talked loudly until twelve o'clock. This is to be expected in Argentina. The problem was that our room was directly off the dining room
Our day started with us backtracking five kilometers to continue on Ruta Cuarenta. Once on the RN40 it was an uneventful ride with the road curving clockwise through the mountains until the junction with the RN150 which heads northwards to San José de Jachal. For a minute or two we thought of continuing southwards to shorten tomorrow's ride. However we were both feeling tired and, with the predicted cold weather blowing through from the south, we decided to spend the night at the very simple motel-like hospedaje at the condedor at the junction.
Tomorrow we head south towards another comedor about ninety kilometers away. It has no accommodation but cyclists are welcome to camp there for free. Toilets at hand and a restaurant make it a more attractive camping option than somewhere in the sticks.
Today's ride: 48 km (30 miles)
Total: 2,486 km (1,544 miles)
