Cusco
A complete rest day. We needed one after the early mornings and late nights of the visit to Machu Picchu. Leigh slept a lot while I spent much of the day hanging out with the various folk stsying at Hospedaje Estrellita. There is Glen, an Aussie, who has lived at the hospedaje for eight years and is a mine of information. Paul is a Canadian dairy farmer struggling to sell his motorcycle so he can fly back home. John from the UK just traveling without much of a plan. Jordan and Sarah finishing six months of bike packing and hiking in South America. The French couple who bailed on cycling to Machu Picchu. A varied and interesting mix.

We had planned to spend a week to ten days acclimitizing to the altitude before starting the trip proper. It has now been a week since we arrived in Peru so tomorrow we will load up the bicycles and hit the road starting with a short day to Oropesa. Let's see how it goes.
