Back on the road again today, albeit a very short ride. A busy road without a decent shoulder made things a bit edgy at times but being along the side of the lake for most of the way softened that to some extent.

One of the attractive elements of today's ride was the rocky hillsides to our right.

Our hotel in Chucuito proved to be a massive disappointment so the less said about it the better. We had really nice digs in Puno so that just heightened the sense of disappointment,.A broken tooth and the flaring up of a old rotator cuff joint injury wasn't going to help either.

To escape the hotel, we took a stroll down to the lake but could only get as far as its marshy edges. A couple of the many Andean Gulls took embrace to our presence although it made no sense since they weren't in breeding plumage.

It is days like this that help us appreciate the really enjoyable first three weeks we have spent in Peru.
