Saw this sign coming into every community across the US that has truck traffic and final looked it up. Compression brakes use the engine and transmission to slow a vehicle by compressing the engine, which can alter the exhaust valves to make the engine act as an air compressor. This can help drivers maintain control of their vehicle without using the service brakes, but it can also be noisy, hence the ban

Lots of people have asked me why bicycle across America, especially after my accident in 2023. A quote from the children’s book The Boy, The Mole, The Fox, and The Horse helps explain it
“Most of the old moles I know wish they’d listened less to their fears and more to their dreams”
What is the deepest canyon in the US? If you guessed the Grand Canyon, you would be wrong. The Grand Canyon is 6,000 feet from rim to river. Hells Canyon which is on the Idaho/Oregon border is 8,000 foot deep. I am riding through Hells Canyon tomorrow, see you on the other side

We guessed Grand Canyon as well! 47 miles today. Long trek. Good luck tomorrow. Thinking of you and missing you!
Father’s Day seems so long ago!
Love,
Mike and Colleen (and of course Newman)
