Days B1-3: Bike Washed and Ready

The next few days on the island were exactly what I needed: deep rest, calm routines, and space to think clearly.  I spent long stretches chilling on the beach or in Rob’s quiet oasis, while letting AI help me break down everything — not just the full Bangkok debacle, but my trading system too.

And that part? That was the real miracle.

For the first time in a long while, the trading system was running on auto-pilot.  I didn’t need to constantly monitor or tweak it.  The charts told the story: despite the usual turbulence in the market, my own account had smoothed out dramatically and steadily grew throughout May.  It was clear that the short stock and option hedges I had designed were doing exactly what they were meant to do.  The system was working.

With the emotional chaos of Bangkok behind me and my trading strategy in flow, I started planning the mechanics of a YouTube channel that would speak to all of it. The travels, the insights, the breakdowns and breakthroughs.  It wasn’t just content; it was an extension of what had emerged last month. The movement.

At some point, the bicycle had to make its return.

The White Tern had been quietly sitting there the whole time — tire flat, a bit neglected, but still with that unmistakable spark of freedom. A quick pump was all it took to bring it back to life. Rob, always full of practical wisdom, casually suggested, “Why not give it a wash at the motorbike place?”

Why not indeed.

So off I went, but the foam wash didn’t stand a chance against the layers of road grime, oil, and history that had built up over the years. This thing had been through a lot. But Rob wasn’t done helping — he dug out some heavy-duty detergent and a stack of scour pads, and we went to work. After one more trip to the wash station, it finally gleamed again.

It was ready.

I eased back into the saddle with short rides around the neighborhood, gradually venturing further. But the most intense challenge? Just getting in and out of Rob’s villa. The gradient on that driveway could make your legs cry — truly absurd. But man, it felt good to be back on the bike again. Really good.

Today's ride: 35 km (22 miles)
Total: 841 km (522 miles)

Andrea BrownI hear Thai banks are closing accounts of non-residents, maybe you want to investigate that.

Phit SteveHi Andrea, yeah I looked into this they're only doing it to accounts that aren't tied to a registered local number. I'm in the clear.
