Headed to Green Gables in Cavendish

Combo bike trail and country roads

A nice day for riding! We started out back on the Confedoration Trail. It was in good condition and we rode it for 14 miles. Then  left I onto a series of paved country roads. No shoulders but very little traffic and drivers who were considerate of bikers. The last part was through a fishing village and along the northern shore near Cavendish. For any of you who have read Anne of Green Gables this is the spot that inspired the author. Canadian Park system has created a visitor center and museum site devoted to the author and Anne. Marlene and Vicki made dinner with help from some of the others. We stayed in individual Little cabins. Nice!

Along the trail many flowers. Almost all were purple or blue.

People We Meet: The Trail Crew! I didn’t get their names but they were a chatty bunch and we talked for quite a while - about Hurricane Fiona, Trail maintenance, what a great job they do. Then they went off to clean the porta potty
