Colville to Ione,WA
Dog days
Day 6. 40.9 miles Colville, WA to Ione, WA.
Perfect weather with a steady climb most of the day, and a wonderful downhill at the end. Started about 10:00 am, arrived about 2:30 ish.
Tonight we are staying at our first Airbnb for this trip. We were warmly welcomed by Judith and her canine companions, in her peaceful country home near Ione, WA. Her Airbnb is called Witt’s End. Painted bicycles can be seen upon coming up the driveway…and what’s that? One high up in a tree? Colorful farm equipment too, make this truly a sculpture park.
After settling into our comfortable space, we enjoyed time on the deck chatting with Judith and trying to encourage Babe, her two year old large white pup, to fetch the tennis ball we brought. She would have none of that, but happily went back and forth to each of us for ear scratches.
Thank you, Judith, for this place of respite during a long cross-country trek!
