Kevin & Julie, ages 67 and 62, respectively, have been married 33 years. They live in Orland Park, IL. Both are retired.  They have 2 sons, aged 30 and 27.

In June 2021, on an Adventure Cycling Association ride in the upper peninsula of MI, they met Gerri, who suggested they come on this Coast-2-Coast trip. Before this trip, Julie had never biked more than 60 miles in a day. 

When we stayed in Blanco TX, Kevin & Julie were visited by 3 couples, close friends of theirs from IL, who drove to TX for vacation. The friends decided to check in on Kevin & Julie to "make sure they didn't join a [biking] cult."
