Ban Phaeng to Tha Uten

Last night JB Place had some live music, which was very good. I had to stay and listen so I ended up having a beer or two more than I am used to so this morning was a slow start. Consequently, we decided to take advantage of the 6:30 breakfast starting time at JB and were on the road at about seven.

It was a flat ride down with mekhong with only 14 kms on the 212. Quite a bit of mud - but not as much as after yesterday's storm. The roads were also quite potholed so we didn't rush things, aided by the cooler weather. We had a great second breakfast cum lunch when we rejoined the 212 after being along the river all the way from Ban Phaeng.

We entered Tha Uten on the riverside road and found Siriphorn Homestay as we reached the center of the village. Good room for 400 baht but it is actually a guesthouse and not a homestay.

There was some procession happening in Tha Uten this evening. We never found out what it was about although we were invited to join in.
