3. 6/1/23 Getting to the start

Our friend Scott Moore wins the friendship prize for taking us to the Bellingham airport at 4 a.m. Here we are with two back packs (front panniers), green duffle has our clothes plus a few extras for our weekend in Minneapolis on the way home, a black duffle has our helmets and a few other things, and the navy square suitcases hold the tandem.

At lunch in MSP airport, Ken mused how awful it would be if our luggage was lost.  Not 15 minutes later, as we were walking away, a VERY NICE woman asked us if we left a black bag at our table.  Yes!  good grief.  Then a few minutes later, Delta notified us that our checked bags were on the plane and we actually watched them on the conveyor belt.  Huge stress release.

Got an XL Lyft for all our bags and arrived at our 2 star motel at 7:30 p.m.

We chose this motel because it is right on our path just west of Cleveland (Lakewood). We know we can stay just about anywhere for a night. We walked to a decent Mexican restaurant for dinner, unpacked the bike but will put it together in the morning.
