Day P2A: Decluttering in a Shoebox

There couldn't be a worse place than a tiny shoebox room in Hong Kong to start making an inventory of the stuff I hauled along and coming up with a decluttering plan.  This involved a myriad of books, papers, journals, and other odds and ends that I packed.

Actually there couldn't be a better place to do this.

Not sure where to start. Maybe let's get rid of the picture of me putting flowers on a statue of the Great Leader Kim Il Sung

I figure this, a territory with extremely cramped conditions and dense population makes you realize that every square inch counts.  Nowhere could this be more true than the shoebox.  Minimalism is magnified when there is nowhere to hide.

The reward for doing this job would be less stuff to carry around and a lighter bike trip.  The punishment for inaction?  Remaining saddled with all this clutter in circumstances where it was the most burdensome.

So it was time to make an action plan to get rid of it.  That done, some great progress started and then I took a break to hit the bank.
