It's going to get dusty! Fortunately, this was the one and only occasion in which I was passed by a large truck on a dirt road. Often times I would cycle for 1 or 2 or 3 hours with no car passing in either direction.

About half-way between Melrose and Wilmington, the row of power line structures stretched farther than the eye can see in both directions

Cycling north on a dirt farm road closer to Quorn, I stopped for a short break. To my east was a very large paddock on which a relatively few cows grazed. To the west was a scenic view of mountain ranges. After a few minutes an elderly farmer in a beat-up ute and wearing a very large fly net, stopped next to me to turn his truck around and have a chat. He's another one who had grown up in the area he still lived in. His mother showed him many features of the land. He pointed (to the west) and told me where Mount Brown and Mount Disappointment were. He said Mount Brown was the highest point in South Australia. According to the Internet (I checked afterwards) this isn't true, but it's nonetheless a beautiful and tall mountain to behold.
