Traverse City

Sometimes a locked gate means go back

I thought this might be a short day but turned out longer and more interesting then hoped for. Yeah, interesting but not necessarily in a good way.

This morning, following the Little Traverse Wheelway I came upon this:

Okay, no explanation, etc. Of course, I go around. Soon enough, I run into this:

Then this, not easy to navigate.

Finally this.

Two ravine crosses and multiple carries over fallen trees. A change up in the routine of straight up bicycling.

A local brewery in the morning light overlooking Lake Michigan.

It takes a bit to see it. But so ooo cool.

I think these are Eastern Columbine. Part of the ravine crossing travail, so a nice respite.

These are intermittent but a bit clustered. Just a few at a time. No idea what they are.

One of the boardwalks seemed to go on for a half mile. There were a few of them.

Another State campground. Electric at sight, but walk to the potable water. $38.00.

So tomorrow, will be like a zero day. I'll go down to Crystal Lake and stay at the Cold Creek Inn. Probably about 35 miles off. I need to take some time to strategerize and reconnoiter the situation. The trip has been moving along at quite the pace and I will be at Grand Rapids much sooner than I thought. And I don't think I want it to end at Grand Rapids any more.  As long as I get home some where close to June 30, everything's good. Tomorrow will be when I get to figure out all out.

Today's ride: 75 miles (121 km)
Total: 1,225 miles (1,971 km)
