Sand Hill Park Houghton

Got wind, eh?

Of course, unfortunately, brother in law Dan was right. The prevailing wind are from the west. Once again he was toooo right. I may be entering the acceptance stage when it comes to the wind.

Fortunately, the wind was mitigated by so much beautiful riding along the coast. There was a stretch of about 10 miles ( it seemed) where there all these wonderful smaller cottages, and some larger. It was nice to see the coast is still a place for those of more modest means.

I met another fellow doing a similar ride to mine, he's stopping in Detroit and started in Boston. Didn't talk too long as I still had 15 windy miles to go. He was doing b&b route and seemed to be enjoying it.

Missed this rabbit by a hair when leaving this am.

How cool is that? The works smallest walk in museum.

This was a rare public access park along the lake. Most seemed privately owned.

Well, huh. But do check out the cottages as well.

There were miles of cottages like these

Nice mural and building in a relatively very small town.

Not sure what type of facility this is. But see the windmills back there as well?

And across the street was a very large solar farm, panels are facing away ( they're shy).

And here is the transport vehicle. Makes your hair stand on end!

Fields of wheat.

Saw tons of great brick buildings. Sadly, many were going derelict.

Sorry this photo didn't come out... There is an extensive marsh along one of the areas I biked.

The beach at me campground. Easy to sit and relax.

Also at the campground. Very built up and often nicely done.

So weather is looking mighty iffy. 1/2 inch of rain for tomorrow but starting tonight. Would be nice to get to Port Stanley about 37 miles on but may have to pull up short in Port Burwell, 10 miles off.

Today's ride: 69 miles (111 km)
Total: 577 miles (929 km)
