Long Beach Conservation Area

Another excellent day for tailwind. I was going to stop and stay once again at Byng campground but decided to go on the next 12 miles to here, in large part because of the generous wind. And here I am without complaints.

Most of the plain flat open roads should be behind me now. For that matter, so is my time in CA!  The section between Selkirk and Dunville is really quite stunning (unfortunately only about 19 miles). Lots of little cottages ( some not so nice or so little), and right hard on the shore. Feeling and smelling the lake is wonderful!

Not sure what they are planting.

These are incredible wetlands along a small section of the lake.

At first, I thought this was a crematorium, nope, a winery!

Turtles all the way down.

I met a lady who was going to scoop up the eggs and put them in an incubator for later release. Apparently, raccoons are quite good at harvesting(?), stealing(?), etc, the eggs.

I've been seeing these Killdeer mainly in the f fields. Finally I was able to get a photo of one. They are lovely

Interestingly, I was told this was a cyclist only section of the campground. So far I'm the only cyclist but one van and one car are here as well. My site (which I could change but am easy to lazy to do) is not not nearly as nice as some of the others. Still, this campground is pretty nice, especially this area.

And it has started to drizzle of and on. It's almost 7, which means I can cover my eyes with my buff, and go to sleep.

Tomorrow will hopefully see me back in the US. Once again, there are fortunately a number of options depending on weather, and inclination, as to where to spend tomorrow evening. Kind of interested in seeing the falls again but it'll be Saturday and it'll be crowded. Not looking forward to figuring out how to cross over Lewiston Bridge.

Today's ride: 93 miles (150 km)
Total: 1,899 miles (3,056 km)
