Fort Edward / Home

The ride is over... The sweet siren song of home easily won out over another hot, but potentially wonderful day of bicycling tomorrow.  Tina collected me about 85 miles from home.

First, today's ride was again quite nice. Mostly on the Erie canal trail for the first 50 miles and then a mix. Though mostly good roads. I used Google to navigate me from Amsterdam to Fort Edward. It did an excellent job with two notable exceptions. I'll take it. It did get hot out there but the tailwind put a smile on my face.

There was a tornado 3:45 am Sunday in Oneida. People died and there was huge destruction. There were many trees on many houses. The tornado also caused the downed trees along the ECT causing my egress to roads yesterday. My thoughts are with those communities.

Onto other, more pleasant thoughts.... As I was riding early today (again starting out at 5:15ish). I got it into my head how nice it would be to see Tina, the cats, and home. Well the thought stayed there and then manifested into me making arrangements for Tina to collect me. God love her! So here I am sweating it out out in Lincoln but very content.

These were in the parking lot of my motel this am, about 50 miles from the tornado.

This old school in Canajoharie once had Susan B Anthony as a teacher. How cool!
