Two days..wind, wind, and…🫣

Update for all cycle blazers! I was the victim of lots of spam on my journal replies the past two days. As a newbie, this was most frustrating and I reached out to administration for CB, and Jeff just made it all vanish! Thank you SO much! Now.. another entry later this evening about the real reason I joined!

Two days combined of photos for your viewing, dear Cycle Blazers! The past two have been very trying, to say the least, in terms of the effort to maintain an upright position on the bike.  My arms are still sore a bit from the constant pressure along with my hands, holding on to the handlebars for this feat.  Today is an overcast morning here in Sneek, NL where I will ride once again! Onward..

First things first..more fun clogs..in Leeuwarden.

Karen PoretTo Laura SeiditaIt’s amazing how many older farmers still wear them! Definitely can stop the doors from slamming onto your toes!

Old time history shop in Leeuwarden. Filled with the history of this grocery store which had oodles of oddities from days gone by.

In the ceramic museum ( Princesshof) in Oldehove, in Leeuwarden. The Escher information for the next four photos. This painting design was done in an entire room! Very dizzying, but, oh so fun!

Tom FlournoyWhen you say "functional," is it to keep thieves out? Or is it to keep people from falling? -Mark

Tom FlournoyTo Karen PoretI live in the DC area and am not surprised in DC, but I guess I've always thought Europe as "safe" even though I've traveled there often. In the bad neighborhoods of DC, even the carryout restaurants have these types of things INSIDE the counter. -Mark

In Idaerd. Where I mailed my card to the couple who are the caretakers of my Uncle’s gravesite in Margraten. Of course, once you find the mailbox, then too many more actually pop up along the way! But, this one was a planned stop. 😬

Karen PoretFound out the Jacqueline and Davy did receive my card.. three weeks later! Sounds like the USPS .. local mail is the last thing delivered 😬

In Weidum, I spotted this wreath, of which I have seen many of on other house fronts. This style denotes a cricket champion! Some had more than one wreath..the family affair, supposedly!

Gregory GarceauI saw that spammer not only on your journal, but also on another one I've been following. Hopefully he is gone forever, but I have no doubt there will be more spammers to follow in this day and age. They'll most certainly "Sneek" in. See how I SNEEKED in that Netherlands pun?

Karen PoretThanks for the comments, Gregory! I am so glad you noticed that spam guy is now “like spam”..in a can, and gone. Ironically I was thinking of you when I took the photo of the history store as it is run by “Feenstra”, and not “Feeshko”..close enough, and yes, they used to sell cigars! 😬
