Jacinto rides Stelvio!
Jacinto said he had a 5.7 mph average at the top. There were many bicycle riders, including a few loaded tourists. Too many motorcycles (it’s Tuesday), and also buses with bicycles on them. Jacinto wasn’t sure if they were getting a ride up or a ride down, he was too busy climbing.
Jacinto bought a jersey and a hat at the top of the he totally deserved them. I was a little puzzled about the jersey, as he hasn’t worn one in years. But if he’s going to wear one, this is a good place to start.
Jacinto had good weather the entire day. It rained in town this evening. He had good timing.
I stayed home and cooked dinner. We both agreed we are tired of restaurant roulette and like knowing what we are eating. We have one more apartment where we can cook.
Jacinto wasn’t as hungry as I expected when he got back. I told him to drink plenty of water. I thought he might fall into bed early, exhausted. No.
Jacinto commented that Mt Lemmon in Tucson and Stelvio are similar amounts of elevation gain, but he said they are totally different climbs. Stelvio is much more start and pretty. He was happy with his experience. Jacinto also noted there lots of hiking opportunities here.
We were looking for a grocery in Nauders. There’s a 95 foot elevation gain in the .2 miles from our hotel to the grocery. I can think of nothing I want that badly!
