Off to Ambialet

A small village in the valley with modern day windmills on the hillside. I guess it is windy here.

We set off from Plaisance to Ambialet after getting all of the bikes set up.  It was a 44km ride with 1300’ of climbing on a cloudy and always threatening rain.  Fortunately,  it didn’t start until we were almost back to the hotel because shortly after we had a major thunderstorm.  It was a beautiful ride along the river but it was not flat nor was it really hilly.  The climbs were 3-7% and not overly long.  We rode to the very cute village of Ambialet on the south side of the river where we had a short rest and then rode back halfway on the north side before crossing back to the south for the last 10km.  Once back I watched the end of the Criterium de Dauphiné followed by the French Open with Linda.

The route for today.
