Grand Canal evolved over many centuries into the longest artificial waterway and water scheme in the world (1800 km). So I headed South to Changzhou to see it.

Like many other canals, it's no longer being used and had little water.

Musicians practising. It sounded like bagpipes.

3 or 4 bicycle rental companies are competing furiously in Beijing. In some places there are piles of unused bicycles.

This truck blows tiny water droplets into the air, as a way of cleaning public spaces.

There was a couple of men barbecuing meat. When I asked about accommodation, they invited me to a free meal.

Tonight, this boy will tell his mom that a blue eyed man on a bicycle photographed them. And she will tell him to watch less TV.
