It's been fun and frustrating at the same time to re-read and edit my journal from our travels in Asia ten years ago. A journal is wonderful for re-living the individual days of the trip, the good and the bad, I wouldn't want to have missed a day of the experience.

The frustration is that I know that we aren't up to touring like that any more. Frustration isn't quite the right word, something more like pensiveness with a touch of melancholy. We feel the changes age brings. We aren't exempt - although on some irrational level the idea seemed to stick around for a long time that we would stay just as fit as ever.

No, we're not really frustrated, we're just pedaling slower - and finding the good things we missed when we were more ambitious. And to be honest, we weren't even that ambitious in the good old days.
