I was told that the Beer is from the Barley. Is this right?

I never tried the gizzards, but my mother made delicious fried chicken livers. I loved them!

I like Fried Gizzard, that's how my mother serve this to us. It is a delicacy in my family. Where I live in Florida there are few diners that serve gizzard & fried chicken livers. It's good!

We have a semi local red barn that has a giant smiley face painted on it. I've been told that the old timers think it's an abomination. Personally, I always have to smile in return as I pass the happy barn.

Of course those 'tar strips' are where the road pavers deposit hot tar to seal the cracks in the asphalt. Road crews use a container that resembles a garden water bucket with a long spout that they use to distribute the a stream of hot tar to fill the cracks. This prevents water from leaching into the road bed. During the winter/summer the freeze/thaw further cracks the road bed. In South Carolina we call these strips, tar snakes.

I've never tasted gizzards, but my mother ate them. I always thought it was a Mom thing to eat the least desirable parts so nothing went to waste, but she insisted she really liked them.
