Sorry to burst your bubble but being asked if you are Belgian in France is as far from a linguistic compliment as you can get.

You're not wrong, Bob. I can only assume that it was salt water ingress that affected the brakes. Because something definitely did. As soon as we disembarked, she was squealing loudly at every touch. The ensuing rain, and usage, helped significantly, but she was still protesting a little under firm braking by the end of the day. Given the space on board, you'd think they might have permitted her a seat of her own. 😉

Gives me the willies just looking at where the bike gets stowed. I'd be worried the entire time about it sliding off into the sea. And then being on the stern and with all of the wind, exposure to salt water.

I just learned something. They are actually in La Pallice, which is adjacent to the commonly referenced La Rochelle. In Das Boot, the end of the movie has them returning to La Rochelle. https://www.atlasobscura.com/places/nazi-uboat-pens

I'm going to show my ignorance here Bob. I wasn't aware of them and haven't planned anything in. Where are they? Tonight's stop is Royan as we keep heading southwards.

This was about two euros, Mike. But we all know that when you buy stuff with foreign currency, it doesn't actually count, right?

Awww, stop it, Mark. You'll make her blush. And I can't be seen on a pink bicycle. Clashes with my carefully chosen cycle wear. 😉

Thank you, though. I do agree with you!
