Most of the tunnels have a bike path to take as an alternative. But this one we didn't know about the bike ferry that costs....that John Street mentioned.
1 year agoThanks, they are unnerving with the sound and hard to tell whether the traffic sound is from behind or the cars ahead.
1 year agoSurreal. What a place to call home.
1 year agoA, eh?
1 year agoFantastic photos! Glad you survived that tunnel though. Sounded very scary.
1 year agoI dislike those kind of tunnels. I’m glad you made it through safely!
1 year agoYour post had me looking at my own blog to remind myself. https://johndelaroo.com/2023/07/31/norwegian-bicycle-tour-day-12/
We cycled in the opposite direction one year ago (minus 4 days) - all four tunnels were avoidable but a couple of them were difficult to spot - not obvious, no signposts. But once on them, they were very enjoyable. Also there is a cycle ferry from Nusfjord to Ballstad that avoids the scary undersea tunnel (Nappstraum). But it costs 400 NOK per person so maybe that put you off.
Fireweed
Probably ID'd it before, but still really pretty!

1 year agoThe westside of scandinavien as well as the Netherlands have a bad grey, rainy summer. The eastside of scandinavien also in Finland is blue and sunny and very warm
1 year agoSorry you fell. I hope you aren’t injured. I had a fall going through a very narrow, wet trail we were riding on.

Thanks John, we'll have to take a look at your blog. We didn't know about the ferry, but you are probably right, that is quite a cost!
