Checked this out, & can really see the charm & the appeal. What a lovely discovery, & can see what makes it noteworthy.

Interesting to see the difference between the mountains in Spain and the coast in Portugal. Today we walked by so many corn fields with the corn a couple of feet tall.

Agreed. There’s a lot to be said for proximity when you’re on a bike tour.

Sometimes proximity is the overwhelming factor in choice of restaurant. I think we’re eating next door again!

OMG, I just had a look at your meal photos. They didn’t want you to go hungry!

Looks like the serving Al got in Zafferana Etnea https://www.cycleblaze.com/journals/sicilia/adrano-to-zafferana-etnea/#45478_in1yp6x27kvdyp1hykzc30hrd3n

We had the leftovers the following day.

We load OSM Cycle maps on our Garmins for the region we’ll be visiting, along with all the routes (and options) I created at home. Each day, we activate the planned route and adjust the settings so it shows as a line on the map. I hardly ever turn on navigation, just follow the line—or not. I can always see where I am with respect to the planned course. Al turns his navigation on and off because, with our generation of Garmin Edge devices, ClimbPro only works when navigating.

I’m exhausted just reading your account. I hate air travel but I endure it yo go places. Sounds like you’re the same.

Quite an exceptional ride along the ledge over the river, with rock-fall netting overtop! Wild!

We're also planning on many two-night stays on our upcoming tour...who wants to rush from one place to the next every day anymore?

Kudo’s to you, Betsy. We were very fortunate with the weather.
