Tortes! But…why are Lotus (brand) cookies atop one if these are made in Belgium?

Getting ahead of your paragraph re: Doug Ford. Go get ‘em is right!
I found out today three people I personally know have already traded in ( or sold) their Tesla’s. In San Francisco, specifically, the Tesla showroom has been seeing a steady stream of protesters and ( I don’t condone this) graffiti and vandalism. BUT!, Tesla stock is WAAAYYY down today. :)

That was an interesting day. Your middle of the night experience with the crossing permission is totally something that I would do!

Well, she did ( seem) to purchase something, with the bag in hand. My guess is worn out feet from walking around.. she should follow our example and ride the bike to stores! Then she could stop on her bike and also have a carrying bag with panniers! Now I am really “ going out of my league” 🙄

It is certainly a puzzlement to us too. So far we have not met one single European who has anything other than contempt for the current direction the US is taking.

Only a few months ago it seemed unthinkable that my country would attack our best international friend, neighbor, ally, trading partner, and some of the finest citizenry on earth. I love how, against tough odds, Trudeau is standing up to the U.S. Bully in Chief. I'm also glad to see the people you run into in Europe agree.

As for the 51st state thing, it's all bullshit. Why in the world would Trump want to make Canada a U.S. state? It would be like adding a huge liberal state like California to the voting population.

You'd have to be pretty heartless cowboy not to appreciate a good cow picture like this one. I hope you called out an encouraging "MOOOooo."

Walking around shopping?

It’s a new ( to us) VISA thing. We had it happen to us twice in one week ( two different bank accounts, but both VISA) and then another neighbor had a APPLE scam on her email which, unfortunately several “friends” chipped in not knowing the email was fraud. Good ol’ AI is my thinking..
Frustrating is not strong enough of a word for this.

The woman on the right with the shopping bag has had “enough”…of what, though? 🫣

Doubtful. We have RDIF blocking wallets/cases which the cards are stored in. This is actually the third time this sort of thing has happened, each time after a month or so of European travel where the only thing the cards are used for is prepayment of Booking reservations. Very aggravating!

Sorry about the card headache. Where were you carrying it? It might not be Booking’s fault. The last time this happened to us, I’m convinced the number was skimmed from my wallet in my pocket by a card scanner.

You are correct. No bakery, no Grampies.
