One of the services of the Ibis Styles is its airport shuttle. :-)

Residhome Nice Aéroport. Decent place, with a huge indoor bike storage area that would be great for reassembly. Very near the Ibis Styles. And an Ibis Budget too. There are dozens of hotels in the same area. And super-easy access to the seaside bike path. A bit far to walk to Terminal 2 with a bike bag, we think.

This path will always be special to me after we rode it at 4 AM on our way to an early flight one summer 20 years ago (the same tour when we went to Corsica the first time). 4 AM, and the place was topping already. The volleyball games were already active on the beach.

Which airport hotel? We are shipping our cases to Ibis Styles Nice Cap 3000 Aeroport, where we have a reservation there made after they said they'd receive and store them. I chose a more expensive place for the better service...

Airline food. We recently flew Melbourne to Dubai on an A380 Airbus owned by Emirates Airline.
The food was great!

Just a quick Hi, Susan. I will be following along as we have never been to Corsica and have been curious about it. I’m looking forward to your adventure from the comfort of my sofa. 😉. Our Dolomite adventure begins in 27 days. Bonne route, my friend!

Note: I’m just back from five weeks riding in Spain and France. As an American, I was treated very well. I am fluent in French and have entry level Spanish language skills, so that definitely helps. People will speak French to you in Corsica

Have a great trip. I spent two weeks cycling the island in 2019. It’s hilly but most of the climbs are single digit. Getting in and out of Ajaccio is tricky. Definitely use gps to help navigate, else you can end up on an autoroute or dealing with steep ups and downs.

Note all the road signs in French are generally full of large caliber shotgun holes.

So sorry to hear your hammy is still acting up. A wise pivot, and I’m sure you’ll have a great time in Corsica. Enjoy!

A torn hamstring is awful! They take so long to heal (or at least that’s how it seems when you’re living through it. Enjoy the hiking!

So sorry that you had to change your trip plan, but better safe than sorry. You still get to see Corsica at least. Hope the hamstring heals up and the hiking doesn't make things worse. Take it easy and enjoy the countryside. We'll be following you, from a distance, as we are headed north from Provence to northern Germany.

Corsica is fab. You'll really enjoy it.

I don't recall the climbs being that tough, and my friend Dave and I did a quite a similar route...

Corsica is on my (very long) list so I'm looking forward to following along! I love your "built-in excuses" and might need to borrow some of those.

You’re going to one of my favorite spots on earth, Betsy. We’ve been twice, and if we were a decade younger I’d lobby to go again. I’ll reallly enjoy following along. Good luck with the weather, but I’d be optimistic. It seems like with normal breaks it should be great when you get there.

We have found all the Europeans we have encountered so far to be extraordinarily welcoming to us. We are sporting Canada luggage tags on our panniers, and each flying a larger than usual, for us, Canadian flag as well. Your trip sounds challenging, but fun. We will be sure to follow along.
