Hi, this is Rachael. Thanks for your concern. Scott has been to the hospital and the doctors were very helpful and there is a plan to get him off prednisone and on to the new drug but it will take sometime so don’t worry! In the meantime his creative juices are flowing and I’m glad he can capture the output.
6 days agoOoh, I love that! I haven't thought about Ferlinghetti in ages, or E.E. Cummings, or Vonnegut, or so many exceptional and unique voices from that unbelieveable era we were privileged to experience together. A flood of names, memories and images and clips rush back with that name: the brick wall from Pirsig, or Alan Watts' description of the view of Mount Fuji from rhe small trapezoidal window of rhe upstairs bathroom of the house. I suspect this blog might end up as long as Kerouac's roll when it's done.

Scott and Rachael, this is Dodie. I am feeling very concerned because Scott is sounding very much like Joni did when she had a psychotic break from overdosage of Dexamethasone. It took me and a good doctor and a good pharmacist almost one year to get her meds straightened out and tapered off. She never did really come back to herself after the episode although the real craziness did diminish. Please do not let yourself be discharged until you are more stable. This seems to be quite serious and should be addressed as such. Love to you both.
1 week agoYou are starting to sound like Ferlinghetti. You could do worse.
1 week agoOh, my! I hope you're back to your normal self soon. And I'm looking forward to your blog posts...
1 week agoExactly, that’s my plan for the ending post, but it’ll likely take a month or ten getting there. While we wait, let’s have a chat, probably after my dosage tapers off enough to my normal hypomania (my new word of the day. Thanks, shrink!).
Discharge today! Woo, hoo!
What a long, strange trip it's been.
Them are some intriguing placeholders, you have our attention so I hope you are able to flesh those out before too long. Meanwhile, enjoy the free breakfast and hopefully a view out the window. All the best, friend.
Personally, knowing that Scott is safe, diagnosed, and getting superb care, I am enjoying getting to know this part of his fascinating and creative brain. We always knew he was an interesting person, now it's confirmed.
