Scott Anderson commented on To Bremen

We've never cycled northern Germany, but you make it really worth putting on our map. Bremen looks like a stunning place to visit.

Thanks for your interesting descriptions of the Weser route, Scott and Pat- I’ve tucked that one away for future reference. Seems like a possible way to cycle from Frankfurt to the sea and trying the Baltic routes. Happy cycling.

AI Overview

A flock of herons is often referred to as a "siege". While other collective nouns like "sedge," "station," or "glean" can also be used to describe groups of herons, "siege" is the most commonly recognized term.

According to Google AI - a group of cormorants can be called a "gulp", a "flock", a "raft", or a "squadron". They are also sometimes referred to as a "flight". Since this lone cormorant is neither flying nor rafting, we'll have to go with "gulp"!

A "gaggle" of geese is favourite!

Nice but I think you should use your bike Friday instead of this for your tour.

We always found that the cycling infrastructure in Germany is incredible! What a great country to cycle in.

The rooster has 3 jobs. 1. Mate with the hens so they make babies. 2. Watch the sky for predators and give warning and 3. Find and show the hens where the food is.

We have one in Canmore but they also have sausages etc. so you can get a ‘whole’ breakfast after the shop is closed.

Great pictures, and what a beautiful bike path. We have ridden it and I am enjoying seeing the sights again.

There are many interesting names for groups of different birds. A "murder" of crows is one of our favourites, as well as a parliament of owls.

Seems a likely explanation. Sounds like a real plague of mosquitoes though, and way before the advent of spray repellents!
