2 hours agoGreat picture of an interesting plant. I had to look it up and discovered its name is because it was used to raise (tease) the nap on fabrics like wool. Thanks again for making this blog one of the most fun places to learn stuff.

Yes, but I doubted you at first because I think it's a Persian silk tree or mimosa. They're all alternate names for the same species. And yes, th3y are invasive, but ones that grow into trees like this are a wonder to behold.
