And with good reason, apparently: looking at Google Maps I can see that many of those aircraft have clearly been decommissioned and are in long-term storage. Some are missing wings and/or rear stabilizers, others are bereft of engines, yet others have no nose cones.

I'd have guessed it meant "Steep Hill", or literally "pronounced dependence (descent)" but then again I have zero Spanish so what do I know?
