How are those knees doing? :)

No, but I think it's just a special thing with the owner to collect them over the years. Many are dated and signed, like they're gag gifts for him. All the walls are lined with them.

Did you figure out the significance of all the ties?

I have a couple of old jerseys with shallow pockets and rarely wear them anymore because of those pockets. My newer ones are much better and pockets are now a feature I check before purchase.

It is so easy for things to go missing when the "system" breaks down. Glad the helmet turned up. We would never ride without wearing ours.

I’m the same way - my phone is always in the back of my shirt (or the pocket of my coat if I have it on now - whatever’s most accessible if I want to stop for a photo with it). The pockets on Rachael’s bike shirt aren’t as deep and she’s worried it will fall out so she carries it in her purse in her pannier. It’s a mystery to both of us what happened that we left it behind, but I think it had something to do with one last loo stop for the road.

The latter - in fact if you look through the door you’ll see the trunks of trees inside. It’s the common fate of old collapsed structures in places like this.

Your new mode of travel makes perfect sense under the circumstances. Could never figure how you planner types could pre plan your entire trip. Invariably weather, health issues, etc can easily upset a plan. We have always booked one or 2 nights at the start and end of our trips. Lots of “planning” on the go with total flexiblity. Never had to sleep under a bridge … not yet anyway.

Safe travels …looking forward to following along.

When we are in various cities and are doing a wondering walk it easy to get lost. On the Guru app I will mark the location of our hotel and use a bearing line to it. No matter where you are the bearing line will point to your hotel.
