Congrats on managing the trains well! It really is surprising that Narbonne has no elevators. It's the only larger city station in France like that that we've encountered.
And you're telling us about the bug bite to add suspense, now we're all waiting around to see if you're sick in the morning. Good luck.
Hope the bug bite is not a tick! But, then, you would probably see it and not a bite..Hope everything will turn out okay so you can continue your exceptional travel journey!
2 months agoFrench train strikes seem to be a regularly (un)scheduled event. You seem to have struck it lucky in avoiding any disruption to your travel plans with this one. Aren't train journeys a pain? Especially those that involve transfers!

3 months agoAbout Narbonne. We got caught out by the lack of a lift there a few years ago. I wonder if the solution might be to get off the train at the station before Narbonne (Coursan, where everything is flat) and cycle the remaining nine kilometres into Narbonne (Maybe via the Ancien Route de Coursan) . You could get a ticket to Narbonne and decide to jump off early if it looks good.

Well done and congratulations.
