Tic Tock: Count Down Begins

Happy Earth Day......I for one believe everyday should be Earth Day. I like to believe that those of us who choose to travel by bicycle do experience the Earth in a more close up and personal way. I should be out there appreciating at this moment however I am stuck in the house with a cold and sore throat. Better now than in a few weeks........right.

Here is a tribute to Earth Day.

Southern Sea Otter with Days Old Pup - Pt Lobos State Reserve, CA. These Otters were hunted to near extinction around the turn of the century. Then in the mid '50's a small group were discovered in Big Sur. Since that time their numbers have increased to around 2,500 on the CA coast. We do a count at Pt Lobos monthly and we have around 40-50 adults with 10-15 pups every month. Not great numbers but better.
