First off, a city walking tour through the historic district!

Pomník mistra Jana Husa (Jan Hus monument), which is smack in the middle of the Old Town Square (Staroměstské náměstí).

Some of these are repeats of yesterday evening's romp, but this time guided! So, again, the Chrám Matky Boží před Týnem (Church of Our Lady before Týn). The more diminutive tower on the left is the "female," and the beefy one on the right, the "male." Adam and Eve (or Eve and Adam).

Il Commendatore, which is a take-off of the more famous Cloak of Consciousness. It is on the list of Top 10 Strangest Statues in Prague. I missed Piss by Černý (and I was so close) . . . next time!

The Stavovské divadlo (Estates Theatre), one of three venues presenting opera. I must return!

Prašná brána . . . The Powder Tower. Has a nice ring to it (in English). Technically, though, it should be the Powder Gate.

I can't recall where this was, but it had something to do with money. I thought the glass ceiling window was worth a picture. Regardless, at this stop we were instructed on the proper exchange of money . . . mostly old-hat stuff for experienced travelers (don't do it on the street) and one of the weaker parts of the tour.

Back to the Old Town Square and the Pražský orloj (Prague Astronomical Clock), seen yesterday.

Then, off to the Jewish Quarter . . .

The Old-New Synagogue, the oldest of Prague's Jewish Quarter sights and the oldest surviving synagogue in all of Europe.

After the walking tour, we made our way across the river just to explore more of the city and also to return on the Karlův most (Charles Bridge).

A peacock in the Vojanovy Sady (Vojanovy Sets).

Lunch at Restaurant Vysoky Dum . . . outside on the back patio.

And then, the Karlův most (Charles Bridge). Crowded with tourists and tourist traps, but a must-do!

Midway over and in front of one of the many statues adorning both sides of the bridge.

The most popular one being (based on shiny metal) the Statue of John of Nepomuk.

Looking upstream . . . note the dam and the river locks in the center (to enter the "harbor") and to the right for bypass traffic.

And at the far end of the bridge, Staroměstská mostecká věž (the Old Town Bridge Tower).
