Munich, DE to Vienna, AT
A long, long time ago, back before I knew Garmins existed, I had dreamt of biking down the Danube. And it was more than a dream . . . I actually went out and purchased a book by bikeline, Danube Bike Trail, which I have perused over the years but never used. Then I had the opportunity to bike down the Rhine in 2010 to Basel, crossed to Lucerne, and then turned northwest for Munich. That was in 2010. After that trip, my plan was to bike down the Isar from Munich, hop on the Danube, and then bike to Vienna. Well, I visited Vienna, sans bike, in 2016. So as this trip's planning evolved, and we all provided input, I was pretty well set on biking down the Isar and the Danube and connecting the two major cities I had already visited once.

Jerry, however, had a friend in Maria Thalheim he wanted to visit and spend time with. And Happy wanted to join him for part of the time. But he would join me in Landshut for the night and the following two days. Jerry visited longer and ultimately rejoined us in Passau after taking the train from Moosburg.
