The Lake Route (Swiss Route 9) does not start in Geneva; it starts in Montreux. But for my blogging purposes, I decided to make the break after our first night in Switzerland. We actually return to France briefly as we traverse the south side of Lake Geneva on our way to Montreux, so we'll be back in Switzerland by nightfall!
