A Day in Paris . . . Shopping!

Well, good news and bad news. But the good is better than the bad! Jerry Cowden's bike has finally been delivered to his hotel! I presume in good condition. Unfortunately, John Burlison's (Happy's) panniers are not to be seen, at least not anytime soon it seems. So a shopping spree in Paris is underway to re-equip him with panniers, bike shoes, clothing, and accessories. The plan now is to depart Paris tomorrow morning, one day later than planned. But on a two-month tour, what is a day? Especially when spent in France!

The HI Hostel Paris Yves Robert, where Happy and Jerry are staying.

So I headed for the hostel, but upon my arrival, I was informed that Happy's bags had been found! Happy's panniers have been located in Reykjavik and will be in Paris on tomorrow morning's flight (6:15 AM landing Paris time)! Not sure when they will be delivered to the hostel, but we spent the afternoon reverse-shopping most of what he had purchased the day before! But first, we decided to try some of the local North African cuisine popular in the neighborhood around the hostel.

Couscous, vegetable piece.

Richard (?) of Cafe Richard? All he wanted to talk about was DJT! So Jerry had a big opportunity to practice his "political" French!

After a trip to Decathlon to return the goods purchased earlier, I made my way back to Bercy and met Florence, Pierre, and Antoine at the daycare for Marius. Antoine was all made up!

My face-painted Antoine!

Afterward we shopped for dinner and had a delightful evening together. The tour will start soon enough. There is always time for family!
