Day 106 - Bowling Green to Dundee

We had a great time getting to know Jane and Tom better last night and having Tom's outstanding lasagna dinner.  We left with promises to get together in the future - on purpose, not by chance!

Today's route took us into Michigan, through the southwest suburbs of Toledo.

The first town we got to was Waterville.

The bridge into town spans the Maumee River

Rose Samson Wow! It is a beautiful bridge with guardrails. Those "white posts" make
it look nicer! Decorative too.

In the next town, we encountered some serious road contruction, but luckily, it ended just before we needed to make a left turn.

I don't remember which town this was.  It had a feature in bike lanes we had never seen before.

We were continuing straight in the bike lane. There was also a right-turn lane and a right-turn bike lane next to that. We'd never seen a road with two bike lanes. Someone here is serious about bike safety.

Between the small towns, it was still mostly farms.

This tractor appears to have been parked here for awhile.

We saw some crops we haven't noticed so far on this trip.

We passed a big field of cabbage.

This tomato field had just been harvested. There were more tomatoes growing on both sides of the road.

And we saw this small apple orchard - red and green apples

In the midst of all the farms, there were also many new subdivisions being built.

We did appreciate that new subdivisions often mean newly paved roads. Silky smooth comfort!
