Day 135 - In Bay City

We walked around downtown Bay City a bit today.  A few blocks are permanently blocked to traffic and have street art and flowers and outdoor dining areas and a happy mix of people enjoying the summer.  I love areas like this.

We walked past a few businesses that appeared to have in a operation for a very long time.  This shoe repair shop was closed, so I had to get a picture through the window.  I could smell the leather and glue just looking in.

A classic shoe repair shop. This is not a new business!

Old Bay City Theater. We didn't cross the street to peer through it's windows.

I just happened to look out the window of our room at just the right time this afternoon to see this ship passing.  We are on the Saginaw River and this cargo vessel was headed upriver from Lake Huron.  I expect we'll be seeing numerous Great Lakes vessels over the next few days.

We're looking forward to some good lake views and lighthouses tomorrow.
