Day 128 Vaughan, ON

Heart 2 Comment 0

We started the day with several miles along the shore of Lake Simcoe.  It was a very pretty ride, calm and peaceful.

The lakefront road was perfect for cycling.

The lake is beautiful.

These homes are across the street from the lake shore.

Many of them must have also had a deeded lot on the lake side. We saw many of these private docks/piers/gazebos.

But where there were houses directly on the lake, we saw mostly hedges - same as we did before.

We saw this small barge on the lake.

Leaving the lake, we rode through some more farm land.

You can just make out someone driving a tractor out in the field.

Before long, we got into a more urban environment.  We had a "trail" for awhile that was just wide pavement along the side of the highway, but it was nice to be off the road.  Kerry wasn't happy to come to these gates,

but he was able to walk the bike through just fine.

Just made it! We didn't have to take off the panniers.

I was glad that I had to dismount and walk because it gave me the chance to get a good picture of the wildlife warning signs on the highway.

Do drivers need to be warned about us???

The rest of the route was on very busy roads - with and without shoulders.  We didn't have any problems and all the drivers were courteous - and they can't even see our gray hair under our helmets!

I tried to get a picture of this amusement park we passed in Vaughan just before our hotel.  It had some long roller coasters - looked like fun.

I looked it up when we got in. It's called Canada's Wonderland and it's the largest amusement park in Canada.
