Penong to Nundroo

Though the road was undulating and the weather was testing today, we made good time. By mid afternoon we’d arrived at the rundown Nundroo Roadhouse. It appears to be struggling to stay open, but had basic (need a lot of maintenance) rooms available.

The cafe was also open and offer a few standard truck stop options.

From the map, it appeared unlikely we’d ride far enough tomorrow to reach Nullarbor Roadhouse, so we each stocked up with 7 litres of extra water in preparation for camping out tomorrow.

Attractive looking farm house. Classic design.

Friendly truck driver. Lots of water spray from trucks during the brief rain showers.

Enough rainfall to wet the socks. Not enough to don the raincoat.

My loaded bike is very, very small compared to these trucks.

The countryside is semi arid. Drought resistant vegetation.
