Paris Day 2

Wow, another late day. Actually, I woke at 6:30 but fell back to a restless sleep thinking I would get up at 8:00 . . . but didn't really wake till 11:00, thinking it was much earlier. Our room faces the courtyard, so I will attribute this oversleeping to lack of bright daylight!

Mark wants to go to the aquarium today, so we will take the same metro line back to Trocadéro and check that out. But first, some food. So we wandered down Boulevard Saint Martin almost as far as the next metro stop and found a nice, friendly place to get coffee and bread with butter. A poor man's breakfast! But I wanted an early dinner, so I did not want to consume more than we needed to get to the aquarium!

Then, on the metro and back to Trocadero and the world of fish.

After the aquarium, we made our way by metro to Saint Michel for a pleasant visit to the left bank and a beer at Chez Clement!

Mark, enjoying the Parisian lifestyle.

Et c'est moi! If I had to be "stuck in a moment" this would be a candidate.

After our relaxing beer, we wandered by Notre Dame Cathedral and on to dinner at L'Equinox, again in Le Marais.

Mark did not want to go, but I arranged our travels such that we had to walk by!

Toast with tapenade seems to be the initial offering everywhere.

The onion soup was out of this world . . . as it should be.

I was hungry enough that I got two entrées (appetizers), the second being this duck "three-ways" served on a potato bed with salad greens.

The main dish, steak béarnaise, was only OK because it is hard to get a good steak in France! My fault as I should know better!

Another late night! We arrived back at the hotel around 10:30. But this time I have set alarms. We will rise at 8:00 as we ride for Senlis tomorrow!
